It’s a question that everyone who produces content asks: when to publish on LinkedIn? What time will give me the best engagement rate? The best reach? What is the best time to post on LinkedIn?

When you know how the LinkedIn algorithm works, you know that you need to get engagement early in the life of the post to get reach. We all know that LinkedIn is the best social network to develop sales in BtoB, now how to have the best marketing strategy on the network?

When to post on LinkedIn in 2022?

Unfortunately, there is no perfect answer. And the same goes for social networks like Instagram, Facebook, and Twitter. If you wander around a little bit on the different sites that offer an answer to this question, you get a few differences and a lot of similarities. But most of them get the information from each other, and nobody seems to have done any testing (with many relying on US information).

According to Julien Bréal, we should publish : 7:30-8:30 / 12:00 / 17:00-18:00 on Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday and from 10 to 11 on Tuesday.

Similar data can be found on web-marketing-conseil.fr,

1èreposition.fr tells us to schedule its posts instead:

  • Tuesday and Thursday.
  • Between 7am and 8am.

    Between 10 and 11 am.

  • Between 5pm and 6pm.

Which is essentially the same thing. Finally, agence90.fr confirms the other data:

  • Most clicks and shares: Tuesdays from 11am to midnight.

  • Worst time to post on LinkedIn: sleeping hours (10pm-6am) just before Monday and after Friday night.

  • Best times to post: between 7am and 8am and between 5pm and 6pm.

  • Peak usage time on an average day: 12pm (noon) and between 5pm and 6pm.

All obviously emphasize that it depends on the audience you want to target, which probably has different practices depending on its typology. There are millions of members on the network, if you want to use it to promote your business, you must absolutely understand the behaviors of your targets. 💡 It’s not enough to be present in certain niches, content must be relevant and tailored to LinkedIn targeting.

According to Oberlo: when to publish on LinkedIn?

Here is his analysis:

Best Times to Post on LinkedIn [Updated May 2022]

Many of you are looking for infographics made by Oberlo.

You should know that it is only a plugin offered by the Shopify CMS. We will not go into details, but all that is to tell you that it is not a professional statistics center specialized in social networks The author of the infographic announces himself in his article “so there are no official best days or fixed hours”.

He tested his own audience and drew conclusions!

When is the best time to post on LinkedIn?

Social media marketing studies are full of lies. ✖ At the moment, there is very little real data on the subject, other than personal experiences, intuition, and data on connection times. Nevertheless, we can already draw some conclusions, which seem quite logical after all

  • Eliminate Saturdays and Sundays and focus on weekdays
  • Aim for mid-morning and mid-afternoon
  • Don’t publish too late in the evening
  • Forget about holidays

These are all general trends, everything will depend on the industry you are targeting and its specific audience!

What is the best time to post in B2B?

Here again, there are no miracle hours. While all the sites tell you to publish on LinkedIn on Tuesdays and Thursdays, those slots end up being saturated and it’s harder to make your LinkedIn publication stand out. What I would encourage you to do, and what I would encourage all companies to do, is A/B testing.

  • Publish on Mondays, rather in the morning, at a fixed time, for 1 month.
  • Publish on Mondays, this time forget the morning and take a slot in the afternoon, for 1 month.
  • Then check if you have significantly different results in terms of audience.
  • If you are in BtoB = respect the office hours.

If you publish with your company page, ((which we do not advise you to do!), then you have access to the statistics, in the statistics > news But if you publish with your personal page, then you have two options;

🅰 Avoid publishing in real-time and prepare your posts in advance.

What is the best day to publish on LinkedIn?

So the question would be: which days match my target’s preferences? To know the trends of LinkedIn users, but especially those of your targets, we really invite you to do competitive intelligence. The best way to find out what works is to see what works from other marketers who are known to be good in your industry. Do a qualified LinkedIn search, find 10 profiles that are thriving on the network and follow them, read all their posts in your news feed, and get inspired.

What are the best times to get the most views?

As we’ve been saying since the beginning of this article, there is no best time to schedule a post on LinkedIn. However, a few tips can help you find a niche that fits:

  • Establish multiple personas and never forget who you are writing to.
  • Don’t publish only once a week: we recommend 3 publications per week to develop your network and gain customers.
  • Give priority to the days of the week, unless your target works at different times.
  • Use the TOFU-MOFU-BOFU method to publish.

Publish at certain frequencies according to your communication axes

  1. Choose a “top of the funnel” topic, i.e. one that interests a lot of people and is fairly related to your industry.

Examples:

  • You are a recruiter, and you take “well-being at work”.
  • You’re a “community manager” and you’d pick “big brand analytics.”

1-3

Next, you’ll choose a “middle of funnel” topic and get a little closer to your core target audience, give tips and tricks, and boost your brand image. Examples:

  • You’re a recruiter and you’re taking the “1 Friday = 1 tip to ace your interview.”
  • You’re a “community manager” and you’d choose “1 Friday = 1 tip to get your visibility and brand awareness off the ground.”

So you show that you master your subject.

4-1

There, you will be even more precise, the “bottom of the funnel”, is your heart of target and answer their problems. It is a phase of “soft prospecting / Inbound marketing” where you transform your prospects into customers. Examples :

  • You are a recruiter, you are going to propose offers, and you leave your contact information at the end of the post.
  • You are a “community manager”, you show the well-conducted performance of one of your clients, you explain the steps to find a good freelancer, and you leave your contact information at the end of the post.

When to post an article on LinkedIn?

Again, there are no best times. Moreover, articles on LinkedIn struggle to take off, the content is often too long to fit the social network codes. Users want to read quickly and the flow of information must be simple and efficient. We tried to implement a good LinkedIn article publishing strategy at Waalaxy, but the results were very poor. What we encourage you to do, if you want to start publishing articles, is to create a recurring newsletter on a high-interest theme and not too targeted.

  • Web marketing,
  • Management,
  • “Community Management”,
  • Natural referencing,
  • HR,
  • New products and market trends.

Conclusion: knowing your audience = knowing when to publish on LinkedIn

The answer is honest, there is no better niche. We’re not going to lie to you like most of the articles you read that give you what you want to hear. The answer is going to depend on how consistent your content is and how much you test. Think about creating a good content strategy before you jump in.
