Waalaxy set itself the goal of making multi-channel prospecting as easy as possible, from LinkedIn to cold-email.Email enrichment was an essential feature for this.
Because in order to send emails to your prospects, well… You need your prospects’ email addresses 🤓.
So obviously, LinkedIn gives you the email associated with your prospect’s LinkedIn account, when you’re connected with them. But for that, already, you have to be connected. 😅
What’s more, these emails are often personal emails. The law forbids prospecting on personal emails… (and nobody likes that).
So we decided to integrate variousemail enrichment tools. We tell you more…
What is email enrichment?
Email enrichment consists in finding an address from information such as a prospect’s first name, last name and company. The aim is to be able to contact this person directly afterwards. 👇
There are two main types of email enrichment:
- Those who work with databases,
- Those based on semantics.
Email enrichment via databases
The way it works is very simple. For years, tools have been scouring the web for emails, cross-referencing various databases with the aim of retaining prospect information in order to then resell this contact data. ✅
This technique poses 3 major problems:
- Databases are not always up to date,
- Data quality is often questionable,
- Their collection rarely complies with the General Data Protection Regulation (RGPD).
Semantic email enrichment
The second method is based on semantics. In other words, an algorithm will combine the various possible email formats based on the company’s first name, last name and website, and then test whether these emails are valid.
So, for Marc Dupont who works at EDF, it will look for combinations like: marc.dupont@edf.com ; m.dupont@edf.com ; marcd@edf.com ; marc@edf.com, etc. until it finds a valid email that matches your prospect. 😎
This method has two advantages:
- It is RGPD-compliant.
- It is based on up-to-date data, as it systematically checks that the email exists and uses LinkedIn data provided by users, which is regularly updated.
What method does Waalaxy use for email enrichment?
To enable you to retrieve more and more email addresses, we have opted for cascading email enrichment. This system consists of querying several email providers in a defined order, until a usable data is found.
In short: if the first finds nothing, we automatically move on to the second, then the third.
Our current cascade is as follows.
- BetterContact (priority): it aggregates data from several email providers. It is RGPD-compliant and does not keep a database of contacts.
- FullEnrich: aggregates data from over 15 email providers. It is RGPD-compliant and does not retain a contact database.
- DropContact : uses the semantic method. An algorithm combines various possible email formats using the company’s first name, last name and website, then checks whether these emails are valid. It is RGPD-compliant.
How does email enrichment work with Waalaxy?
Waalaxy integrates the possibility, in a large part of the available sequences, of passing through an enrichment stage that directly calls the APIs of the various suppliers.
It’s quite simple, and requires no action on your part:
- When the prospect arrives at theenrichment stage, called Email Finder in Waalaxy, we query BetterContact, then FullEnrich (in case nothing is found at BetterContact), and finally DropContact (if still no success). They will in turn proceed to search for emails.
- If the email is found, it will go into the “Has email” part of the sequence, and if not found, into the “Does not have email” part.

If you’d like to know more about the different enrichment tools, we’ve made a comparison of the Seamless.ai enrichment tool with other tools like Waalaxy, Apollo, Kaspr, Cognisim, Lusha…
You can also launch email enrichment from the prospect’s LinkedIn profile:

No. To make things even easier, we offer the possibility of enriching emails without having to subscribe to any of the providers. Everything is managed automatically and integrated into your Waalaxy subscription.
On which Waalaxy subscription plan is enrichment included?
All Waalaxy subscriptions give you access to email enrichment. However, for Advanced and Freemium subscriptions, you only get 25 Email Finder credits to test the feature. Business subscriptions include 500. However, you can add credits to any subscription.
How many emails can I enrich with Waalaxy?

Are my credits debited when the email is not found?
No, you’re only debited for emails that are actually found.
You are therefore not charged for a failed enrichment.
Are found emails professional emails?
Yes, they are. All email addresses found with Dropcontact are business addresses. On the other hand, email addresses retrieved from your LinkedIn contacts are mostly personal emails. ✅
What to do when an e-mail is not found?
Unfortunately, not much. When an email isn’t found, you can try an approach on LinkedIn, for example. If you’ve already done this and you don’t get a response, then your prospect is kind of lost… 😅
Is email enrichment RGPD compliant?
Absolutely. All our suppliers are RGPD compliant.
Is email enrichment risky?
Email enrichment is risk-free. It is not associated with your LinkedIn account or your email.
Conclusion
Email enrichment is an essential feature for multi-channel prospecting. With an RGPD-compliant system, you can use it without any risk 👌.
