Waalaxy allows you to import a CSV file, containing the prospects you want to upload to a list. You will then be able to contact them as if they were imported prospects with a classic search. In this article, we will see how to perform a file import on Waalaxy. 😜

Expected data and format for file export on Waalaxy

To import leads it is necessary to have the url of their LinkedIn profile in the following format

In order to work, there needs to be only one LinkedIn URL per row in your CSV file. The file takes into account any type of separator. Normally there is no problem when there is other data in the file (name, first name, email…). File import procedure on Waalaxy

  1. Go to the “Prospects” page.
  2. Go to the list for which you want to do the import. You can create one if needed.
  3. Click on the “Import” button at the top of the page and then “Import CSV”.
  4. Select the file in your documents.

Frequently asked questions

Importing can sometimes cause you problems or confuse you. 🤪 Here are the main questions and their answers.

The import works but I get leads with urls instead of names

These are partial profiles. When you do a CSV file import, Waalaxy only retrieves the URLS. So it doesn’t have the first and last name information.

When you will send your first action, the extension will scan the profile for missing information and complete the profile. This profile “scan” makes a request to LinkedIn to get the information. 👇

That’s why the profile is not completed directly when the file is imported: if you add 10,000 prospects, it would send 10,000 queries to LinkedIn in a few seconds. Not very human like behavior!

To retrieve your prospects’ information, a simple profile visit is enough, but you can also send follow-up actions/connection requests/messages with the “first name” and “last name” personalization variables, these will be retrieved fine.

Waalaxy detects the profile urls but when I do the add nothing happens

Follow this procedure:

  • Check that the leads have not been imported without you realizing it. To do this, press Ctrl+R (Cmd+R if you are on a Mac). Then check if they have been added to the list or if your list has not changed.
  • Check that the urls correspond to the expected format (see above).
  • Keep only the urls in your file and delete all other data.
  • Reload the extension.

Waalaxy did not import all leads

Just like importing from a search, Waalaxy performs a duplicate check in your CRM. In order to prevent you from contacting the same lead twice, it is not possible for the lead to be present in the tool in multiple copies.

When you import, if the lead is already in the CRM, it will not be imported. On the other hand,on LinkedIn, it is impossible to access profiles that go beyond the 3rd level of relationship, you can neither see these profiles on LinkedIn, nor send them a connection request, they are outside your network.

Therefore, it is also impossible to import them into Waalaxy 😉
